Extended Day
Enrichment Program

Music and Movement:  Learning begins with exploration and experimentation by interacting with people, manipulating objects, and making discoveries that help make sense of the world.  Success in school is accomplished by development of the whole child: physically, mentally, emotionally, socially, and creatively.  As part of our commitment to the whole child, SAA’s Extended Day Enrichment Program is introducing Music and Movement Activities for our active, creative, and spontaneous students.  Music helps children develop memory, language, literacy, and math skills.  Multicultural awareness is also expressed within music and movement.

Deaf Awareness:  2nd-8th grade students in the Extended Day Enrichment Program (EDEP) are learning about Deaf Culture and American Sign Language (ASL) as well as designing and implementing an ASL project to share.  Curious about American Sign Language?  Ask an EDEP student; we have learned over 51 signs!

Creative Dramatics: EDEP students are starting to explore the exciting world of Creative Dramatics.  Creative drama can include dramatic play, story enactment, imagination journeys, theatre games, music, and dance. Actively using the body, voice, mind, and imagination are essential and fun components in creative drama lessons

Dear Parent/Guardian,

It is with my sincere pleasure that I welcome your interest in the Saint Agatha Academy’s Extended Day Enrichment Program for after-care services.  As Director of the Extended Day Program at SAA, I look forward to getting to know both you and your child.

With a new, Saint Agatha Academy operated Extended Day program, you
can expect the same commitment to your child’s enrichment experience as you do with their daily school activities.  I am committed to the partnership of providing vibrant learning experiences that include the promotion of the student’s physical, emotional, social, and intellectual growth and well-being.  The SAA Extended Day Enrichment Program will include a homework program, healthy snack, and diverse activities to support and challenge each student.

As we collaborate in creating an exceptional opportunity for enrichment
activities, I anticipate that you and your child(ren) will have ideas, unique talents, and varied interests.  I encourage you to share your interests, as I will explore the opportunity for your child to participate in plentiful and varied activities.

With a diverse background in education, creative and performing arts, and a zest for learning, I am truly excited to be part of the unique community of Saint Agatha Academy and equally thrilled that your child will be part of the Extended Day Enrichment Program!

Sincerely,

Katie R. Fotiadis Stangarone
Director of Extended Day and  Enrichment Programming
