November 26 Good afternoon/good morning. Today we celebrate Thanksgiving Day Welcome to our parish celebration of the Eucharist. Our opening song is # (Priest) Truly it is right for us to give thanks and praise to God for the abundant blessings bestowed upon us. Lord Jesus, you broke bread with your disciples. Lord have mercy. Christ Jesus, you gave thanks to your Father. Christ have mercy. Lord Jesus, you offer yourself in the Eucharist. Lord have mercy. Priest: Mindful of God’s blessings, we ask confidently for what we need. For compassionate pastors and inspired preachers, for tender shepherds and wise administrators, for advocates of justice and peace...We pray to the Lord. For political leaders to recognize freedom of religion and ensure the safety of religious minorities... We pray to the Lord. For our lectors, Mass servers, ushers, Eucharistic ministers, and choir. We ask for your blessing on these participants of the Mass for their role in the celebration of the Eucharist...We pray to the Lord. For clean water and clean air, for renewable resources and careful stewardship...We pray to the Lord. For health and shelter, for education and freedom, for abundant choices...We pray to the Lord. (Pause for Father’s Intentions) then say... Reader: Father we thank you for our many blessings, and ask your help with these silent intentions. (Please do not say we pray to the Lord) (Priest) Generous God, you have given us every good thing. Your Holy Spirit bids us pray for all in need. Grant what we ask in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.
