Learn More About Us
Annunciation Child Care Center (ACC), established in 1992, is dedicated to providing high quality day care and early childhood education for children from the age of six weeks to pre-K of registered Annunciation Catholic Church parishioners. We have a loving, dedicated staff of administrators and trained teachers working with the children. We maintain a low student teacher ratio. We believe children will learn best through active participation. We encourage parent's participation through our parent's organization, T.E.A.M. (Together Everyone Achieves More).
Our classes are grouped into infants, toddlers (younger and older), twos (younger and olders), threes and fours. The child's age on September 1 determines which year he/she may be enrolled in. Children must be fully potty trained to attend in the threes and fours. We work with parents to potty train prior to the threes.
We are licensed by the state of Florida and meet or exceed all the state's requirements as established by the Department of Children and Families.
We are very proud to be accredited by the National Association for Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the highest accreditation an early education center can receive. Early childhood programs accredited by NAEYC have voluntarily undergone a comprehensive process of internal self study and improvement. ACC was reaccredited by NAEYC in 2010. The accreditation is valid for 5 years and this is the third time we have been accredited! NAEYC is the mark of quality of our program.
ACC has been a Seminole County VPK provider since 2008. As part of the VPK program, children participating in the VPK program are tested at the beginning of the following year in kindergarten to assess the effectiveness of the VPK program they participated in. Our children, tested in 2009 to assess our effectiveness during the 2008-2009 school year, had the top scores in the county. ACC earned a score of 200, which is the highest score possible. Read the county's report of our results. We are currently accepting students for the 2012-2013 VPK program. Please contact us or visit the Seminole County's VPK website for more details.
Our curriculum includes the Happily Ever After reading program. Happily Ever After is a readiness curriculum designed to prepare children for reading instruction. It includes beautifully illustrated stories, lively discussions and a great variety of hands-on activities that delights children and fosters confidence as it systematically builds the skills they need to learn to read. We also offer Spanish and Computer Enrichment as extra-curriculur activities in the afternoons.
