Honors Received from Vatican as Pope Benedict XVI visits the United States
In honoring priests of the Diocese of Orlando who have given long and distinguished service to the Diocese of Orlando, Pope Benedict XVI, the Holy Father, honors the entire Church of Orlando which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year as he designates six priests with the title monsignor. Our Pastor, Monsignor Patrick Caverly, vicar general for the diocese, is named Protonotary Apostolate Supernumerary, (P.A.), the highest ranking nonepiscopal prelate at diocesan level whose title will be: Reverend Monsignor Patrick J. Caverly, P.A., V.G.
Monsignor Caverly has been pastor of Annunciation since it's beginning in 1982 and has been Vicar General for the Diocese of Orlando since 1991.
