St. Barbara Byzantine Catholic Chapel at 1114 Troy Street, Dayton, OH 45404 US - The Byzantine Catholic Eparchy of Parma

The Byzantine Catholic Eparchy of Parma

Official

On Dec. 1, 2005 the congregation of the former St. Barbara Church, Dayton, Ohio, relocated to St. Stephen (Latin Catholic) Church, 1114 Troy Street, Dayton, OH 45404. The telephone numbers are (937) 223-8306 and fax (937) 223-5574.

Under the name St. Barbara the Great Martyr Chapel, and with the priestly service of Father John Kapitan, OFM, services will be held at 4 p.m. each Saturday evening and during the week as available.

Since they reside within the territory of St. John Chrysostom Church, Columbus, Ohio, the congregants are members of that parish. The chapel, however, will have autonomy with regard to finances and certain operational matters.

By agreement of Bishop John and Archbishop Daniel Pilarczyk of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, the Divine Liturgy will satisfy the Sunday obligation for all Catholics. (Unless such permission is granted by the bishop(s), a worship site does not enjoy this privilege).
