Meet Fr. Anthony!

Fr. Anthony Muthu, HGN, the pastor of St. Gregory Catholic Church, hails from Marmallapuram, a town in southern India.  He was born on July 13, 1970.  He had his schooling at St. Joseph Hr. Sec. School, Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu.  He joined the congregation of Heralds of Good News in 1993.  He had one year of regency to have parish experience.  He had his philosophical studies in years between 1994 - 1998 at St. Joseph's Major Seminary in Khammam, Andhra Preadesh.  He continued his theological studies in the same seminary and completed them in 2002.  On January 3, 2003, he was ordained as a priest for the order of Hearlds of Good News in Mamallapuram at Holy Family Catholic Church, his home parish.  His first assignment was to be a missionary in Tanzania.  On March 16, 2003, he left his home country to serve in Tanzania, where he was director and chaplain for St. Joseph's boys' hostel.  On October 15, 2009, he was transferred to the US to be an Associate Pastor at St. Jude Catholic Church in Louisa, KY.  He was there for eight months and then came to Barbourville to pastor both St. Gregory's and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Williamsburg.  Much like the East needed missionaries in the past, Fr. Anthony is a missionary in America.
