Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ; At the time of this writing we have finished the 9 week novena for the upcoming Cursillo week-ends. This novena serves as a foundational prayer for the success of the week-ends. Please continue above and beyond this opportunity to pray and offer palanca/sacrifices during the team preparation and formations. Each of us has experienced the benefits of these offerings as we began our own Cursillo journey. Trust that your prayers and palanca will do the same for those who Christ will be calling to make the upcoming week-ends. Some we may not even know yet. Also let’s continue to remember those who have made their intentions known through Roni’s email and prayer requests. Prayers of continued healing and strength are lifted up for Cursillista’s Katie Emge (back), Carol Kueker (surgery), Real Vasquez (surgeries and infection due to a fall), Doretta Vogler (heart attack) and Charlotte Kaffer (cancer treatment) Sister Martin Ksycki (health concerns). Our continued prayers for healing go out to many friends and family members of Cursillista’s who are suffering from cancer, grieving the loss of a loved one due to a tragic accident, chronic illness, medical, emotional, spiritual or health related concerns, which include: Margaret Cannell’s husband Ed (jaw reconstruction), Rosemary Littman’s son Dave, Dawn Reinacher’s friends Tyler Hoerchler and the family of Brenda Altadonna , Reilly Mallery, Angelo and Jan Fiorina’s daughter, Bob and Susan McCormack’s friend Debbie Daum, Roni Juracek’s Great Nephew Ethan Koch and his family, Mary Nieman’s cousins daughter Jenny, Joe DiGiovanni’s 14 year old son, Robin Schuetzenhofer’s aunt, Mary Svec, and Tom Ford’s sister Connie Cusick. Let’s remember our military families and the safety of those loved ones who are separated because of war. Prayers for employment continue for Cursillista’s and their family members who are looking for work. And we offer continued prayers for our youth, especially those who recently attended the NCYC in Indiana. Cursillista’s Marie Caddell and Julie Bostick request prayers for successful outcomes they are speaking about to various parishes. Several Cursillista’s experienced the loss of a loved one over the past several months; let us remember the repose of the souls of Thomas (nephew of Katie Emge), Heather Recker (sister of Laura Wolf), Eleanora Arnold (grandmother of Robin Schuetzenhofer ), David Schwab (brother of Jean Macke), Alice Middendorf (mother of Marilyn Calvert) and Kenny (brother of Stephanie Vogel). May these and all the souls of our family and friends who have gone home to Jesus rest in the peace of Christ. Let’s continue to pray for strength and courage for the families of these Cursillista’s as they endure the days ahead without the physical presence of their loved ones. May we continue to offer prayers and palanca throughout the year for others who will be encountering Christ on their Cursillo weekends in the weeks ahead. May you all have a blessed holiday season and a very “Mary Christmas”!
Love, Joy and peace,
+Susan Ditch
