DISCUSSION:

News from Pre-Cursillo:. Anna Feurer:  We have one application for the  Women’s weekend, one for the Men’s weekend, and 15 on the prayer list.  Anna will contact sponsors for others who have expressed interest in past years, to see if we can generate more applications.

News from Cursillo:  Dave Bassler:  The deposits for the weekends to DuBois have been paid.  We need a minimum of 25 attendees for each weekend, including the team members.  DuBois asked if we would mind sharing the dining room with some of their volunteers on the Women’s weekend, and the members all agreed.  A group of volunteers will be working on a barn, and they will use one side of the dining room.  The Lodge will remain set up between weekends this year.  Dave will take home the chalices and speaker system.  A heater will be available for the downstairs this year.  The inventory on the trailer has been completed.  Robin will replenish the supply of Cursillo pamphlets when they are ready.

News from Post-Cursillo:  Pat Cates:  She announced that Karen Rau has graciously accepted the post of Post-Cursillo Chair.  Karen was not available to attend this meeting. The Reunion for the new Cursillistas will be on March 25, 2012.  St. Agatha Parish in New Athens has agreed to host this event.

News from Public Relations:  Susan Ditch emailed Pat Cates a memo confirming that St. Agatha Parish in New Athens will host the Reunion will be on March 25, so this can be released for publication.

News from the Evangelizer:  Robin Schuetzenhofer:  The next issue will be delayed to allow use of photographs from the Weekends.  The deadline is March 1, 2012.  She also requested that John Schaberg send a synopsis of his witness from the upcoming Ultreya in New Athens for inclusion in the next issue.  The Rector and Rectora of the Weekends will also be asked to write a short report for the next issue.

News from School of Leaders:  The next meeting will not be until April.  The School meets on the 3rd Monday of each month at 7:00 pm, and all Cursillistas are welcome to participate.

Old Business:

  1. The Reunion is on March 25, at St. Agatha Parish in New Athens.
  2. The Day of Reflection is still in progress for both scheduling and location.   The April 21 date is not good for Fr. Gary.  St. Mary’s Parish in Mt. Vernon is not available, due to its construction project.  Ralph Bostick had previously agreed to contact other parishes, possibly St.Clare in O'Fallon, or St. John’s in West Frankfort.
  3. The new pamphlet is still in development with Ralph Bostick.

New Business:   No new business at this meeting.

Next Secretariat meeting:  March 27, 2012.  It was agreed that we may or may not need a meeting before the weekends, i.e. to decide whether the events have enough Candidates.  Dave Bassler will find out from DuBois the latest date we can cancel, if necessary.  In the event a decision is needed, Pat will contact the Secretariat members.

Next Evangelizer deadline: Articles due March 1, 2012.

The Meeting was closed with prayers.

Minutes drafted and submitted by John I Schaberg, Secretary, February 19, 2012.

Accepted March 27, 2012
