Bethany Center Welcomes You!

Bethany Center is the realization of our Bishop’s vision for a conference and retreat center to support the work of life-long formation and the mission of the various congregations and ministries of the Diocese of St. Petersburg.   Bethany Center completed construction and became fully operational in January 2009.   The Center provides meeting spaces, overnight accommodations and outstanding food services with the hospitality of the home of Martha, Mary and Lazarus that welcomed our Lord. As a Retreat and Conference Facility, we welcome other faith traditions as well as non-profit and for profit guests seeking fellowship, renewal and personal growth.

VOLUNTEER SERVICE
As a Bethany Center Volunteer you will not only have the satisfaction of enhancing a ministry of welcome, hospitality and renewal, but also have the opportunity to meet and work with those who minister in our diocese and throughout the Catholic Church. Since January of this year we have welcomed clergy and lay leaders from around the state of Florida and around the nation. Next year we will expand our own horizons as we begin to welcome international leaders of the Catholic Church for conferences and retreats.
As a volunteer at Bethany Center you can support and enhance our ministry and mission by:
Being the welcoming presence of Christ to all who come to the Center and by service in one of the following areas:
+ Reception Desk greeting and responding to those who call or come by the Center
+ Serving as a host or hostess for retreats and conferences
+ Assisting with registration
+ Cart drivers
+ Helping presenters with A/V equipment and other needs
+ In the bookstore as a welcoming presence
+ In Saint James Chapel in our Sacristans Guild or as a musician for worship
+ Working with our dining room staff as we serve our guests at their tables
+ Working with our kitchen staff in support of the ministry of the Youth Center
+ Support of our maintenance staff with the building and grounds
We also have opportunities for Youth Service Volunteer Hours
Volunteers are needed during the week and on weekends, especially during those times when we have large groups on campus.
