What is our mission and what do we do?

Pastoral Council sets policy and establishes goals for the parish community consistent with faith, morals, and laws of the Catholic Church, true to our Catholic traditions, and in conformity with the policies and practices of the Diocese of Saginaw.  The council is responsible for naming recommendations to the Pastor to insure that parish priorities and the overall direction and emphasis of parish activities and services are on target.

Fr. Bob believes that the primary focus of the council should be on mission and ministry rather than the “nuts and bolts” of running the parish day-to-day activities.  The council runs on a consensus basis where there are no formal votes on issues or topics brought before the council.  Members are expected to be prepared for meetings by reading and thinking about the agenda, be ready to take part and voice an opinion, share thoughts, and be respectful and honest with one another.

How does a parishioner get involved?

Pastoral Council members are chosen by the selection process.  Any active member of the parish in good standing is eligible to submit his/her name for selection.  Selection takes place at Mass on the first Sunday of June.  Members serve a three-year term.

Each member will also serve on one of the four commissions or two committees (Faith Formation, Christian Service, Liturgy/Music or Youth Commission or the Administration or Stewardship Committee).  Meetings are held on the third Wednesday bi-monthly, August through June.

Any questions or comments you may have for the Pastoral Council should be directed through the Blessed Trininty Office at 989-652-3259 or by e-mail to BTC-Office@chartermi.net
