What is our mission?
The mission of the Christian Service Commission is to provide hands-on assistance through compassion, outreach and community.
What do we do?
Based on church income, 9% is put into church tithing. Distribution is determined by the needs of individuals and organizations, as well as emergency situations. We collect unused medical supplies, distribute gifts from the Advent Giving Tree, donate, cook and deliver food for the Rescue Mission and donate and deliver clothing. Volunteers work at The Clothesline, minister at area nursing homes, and send out cards appropriate for the circumstances.
How does a parishioner get involved?
Every parishioner who contributes to to the parish helps by their weekly contributions. Parishioner support of this commission is also reflected in the completion of their Time, Talent & Treasure stewardship forms. Parishioners may also volunteer at any time for any of the ministries listed above.
