WHAT IS OUR MISSION?
The mission of the Liturgy of the Word Catechist is to present lessons from the teacher's manual for lectionary-based formation of children in grades one through four. These sessions are conducted during, but separately from the Sunday morning Masses and are presented on a level conducive to children of this age group. The material for the weekly lesson is coordinated with that being presented in the adult Mass.
HOW DOES A PARISHIONER GET INVOLVED?
Catechists, catechist helpers or substitutes are members of the Blessed Trinity parish. Training is provided by the parish. The time commitment is approximately 1.5 hours per week plus any lesson plan preparation time. Parish faith formation is the mutual effort of the parish and the family system.
