- Each month a report is sent to me by Tuition Management Systems indicating those
families that are delinquent in their tuition payment. Tuition payments comprise 56% of
our operating funds. It is imperative that families stay current on their tuition payments
so that we can operate within our approved budget. Please note that if there are
extenuating circumstances on being current with your tuition, it is important that you
contact either myself or one of the pastors.
- Guardian Angel - BLS Donation
You are wonderful! Together, our school community collected an astounding $3813 for the
Guardian Angel Tuition Assistance Fund through the September
BLS Spirit Days! Thank you for your sacrifice and support in this giving. We are all blessed to be
members of a faith community that helps those experiencing financial difficulties and so strongly
supports the mission of Catholic education. May God bless you for your generosity, and may His
blessing continue to shine upon you!
- Columbus, Ohio -- A state law taking effect next week says children ages
4 to 8 weighing more than 40 pounds and less than 4-feet-9 inches tall
must be in booster seats when riding in cars in Ohio.
The law goes into effect Oct. 7. The National Transportation Safety
Board said Ohio was only one of seven states that did not require
booster seats for children older than three. A booster seat raises a
child so that the seat belt fits properly to avoid injuries.
Law enforcement officials can cite motorists violating the law only if
the motorists are first pulled over for a different violation.
Warnings will be issued the first six months. Full enforcement begins
April 7. Drivers will be fined $25 to $75 for an initial violation.
- Important Health Information
-In collaboration with the Public health Department, BLS will be offering H1N1 vaccines. We
have met with a health department liaison and have scheduled in- school vaccinations for Nov. 3,
2009 for both campuses. A second in-school vaccination clinic date is scheduled for Dec. 1, 2009,
for those students 9 years of age and younger to receive the second dose. Children 10 years
and older will only need one dose. These dates are tentative based on the arrival and availability
of the vaccines. Information and consent forms will be sent home with your students as soon as
the health department has provided them for us. Vaccinations will be provided free of charge.
Please feel free to contact me for any question or concerns.
