EXTRA SPECIAL EVENT!
Welcome to our news and information page. Catholic Men's Retreat Conference Speakers bios and registration information, place and time are listed below: Speaker: Gerry Faust Gerry was the mythical high school coach from Cincinnati's Moeller High School. In the last eight seasons of his 18-year career at Moeller, his teams lost only one game. His dream was to become the football coach at Notre Dame, and that became a reality in 1980. In 5 years his teams went 30-26-1, not quite the record he had envisioned. But Gerry has won more hearts than games. He will tell his inspirational story - Faith, Family, Friends and Football. He now lives in Akron, Ohio with his wife Marlene. They are the proud parents of 3 children and 2 grandchildren. Speaker:David Kauffman David is a best selling Catholic recording artist who sang for the Pope and 1.5 million young people at the World Youth Day in Paris. He has sold more than 50,000 records and performed more than 600 concerts worldwide. After hearing a strong call from God, he left behind a successful business career to devote full time to his music ministry. David says “When we begin to recognize God in our midst, and ourselves in His embrace, there is a natural tendency to live more Christ-like.” He lives with his wife Missy and daughter Cameron in San Antonio, Texas. (See his photo in the upper right on the HOME PAGE) Speaker:Mike Murphy Mike serves as deacon at St. Martin of Tours Church in Louisville. He also ministers to prisoners in the Jefferson County Jail. Mike is well respected in the Louisville business community. But Mike’s life now is in stark contrast to a more turbulent youth. Mike will share his story “From Darkness to Light” at the conference. His conversion and powerful testimony will touch and inspire you to deepen your faith and trust in God. Mike is married to Delores and the father of Mike and Natasha. Speaker:Tom Seaman Tom was the starting offensive guard on Frank Leahy’s Notre Dame football team. He is the father of eight children. He also developed cancer—and overcame it! His talk will focus on overcoming adversity in our life. Music: Music and worship will be led again this year by The Romans. They are a contemporary Catholic music group from Cincinnati, Ohio consisting of brothers Greg & Jeff Schutte, Rick Crone and Mark Hingsbergen. Mass: The closing liturgy at this year’s conference will be celebrated by Auxiliary Bishop Charles G. Maloney. All priests and deacons who attend are also invited to vest for the liturgy. The homily will be given by Fr. Terry Bradshaw, pastor of St. Athanasius Church in Louisville. Reconciliation: There will be a short reconciliation service led by Fr. . Following the service the Sacrament of Reconciliation will be available on an individual basis. Parish Fellowship Groups: Fellowship groups for men are comprised of men of parishes who gather to discuss their lives in the light of their Catholic faith and to share their faith and experiences through friendship, prayer and fraternity. Many parishes in the Greater Louisville area have already established a men’s fellowship group. You will have the opportunity to learn more about starting or joining a Parish Men’s Fellowship Group at the retreat conference. Registration Information $20 Pre-registered $10 for teens and younger $15 for groups of 10 or more $25 at the door Lunch is included For best seats, arrive early on day of conference. With messages that raise your spirits and invigorate your life, this year’s speakers will motivate you to build stronger relationships with God, family, friends and co-workers. We encourage all men—fathers, sons, grandfathers, married, single, divorced—whatever your level of faith, or whatever your faith, to attend this special retreat.
