Interested in Becoming Catholic?
For adults interested in learning more about becomingCatholic, the Church provides a process called The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA).
· This process is designed for those with little or no experience of the Christian Faith as well as for those who have experienced other faith traditions.
· The process includes an exploration of Catholicism through scripture study, faith sharing, discussion, discernment, and the celebration of rites.
· The weekly sessions provide preparation for the celebration of the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist, for those interested.
· Interested individuals can attend inquiry gatherings at various times during the year.
· Participants progress at their own pace. Each individual can take as much time as needed.
Various rites are celebrated throughout the process, culminating in initiation into the Catholic Church.

Adapted Rites for Older Children
There is a process similar to the RCIA for children (generally aged 7 years and older) who have either not been baptized or who have been baptized but have not been trained in their life of faith. Please contact Sue Parker for more information about the Rites of Initiation for older children as they are celebrated at St. Jude.
