Catholic Community of St. Jude at 409 Wilson St., DeWitt, MI 48820 US - Retirement Party for Jack Armstrong

Retirement Party for Jack Armstrong

After 30 years of faithful service to our parish community, Jack Armstrong, our parish youth minister and  director of the RCIA (the process by which adults join the Catholic Church), has chosen to retire. Even after his retirement, Jack will still be a presence among us, as he will continue to direct the RCIA and assist with adult faith formation here in our parish community.
The great thing about having Jack as a member of the pastoral staff is that he is our institutional memory (or elephant!) because he has been a part of the parish since very nearly its beginning. Jack seems to be able to recall who did what where, when, why and how. That alone should have us on our toes. His memory has also been an incredible help to me, as I have sought to understand particular events in our parish’s history.
As most of you know, with the deaths of his son Paul and Paul’s wife, Kris, Jack now has the responsibility of raising his two granddaughters. With a reduced set of   responsibilities here at the parish, Jack will have more time and freedom to devote to them. Watch out Coree and Brontae!
As a way of saying thanks to Jack for his many years of dedicated service, we are currently making plans for a retirement party (read “roast”) in his honor. The party will take place on Sunday, November 29th at 1PM, the time is yet to be determined, if you’d like to help with the party and the program of events, please call Tina in the parish offices (669-8335 x 13) and let her know.
