A note from your youth Minister, Ed Noriega: Eliza Palma, one of our Crusaders recently attended the Anaheim Youth Day. Here are her observations and thoughts! "omg this is way weird...i'm doin a blog...and i never do blogs! this must mean, that what i have to say is just awesome! lol. ok so yea, yesterday I went to the Anaheim Convention Center for Youth Day '05 [where like 4000 catholic teens gather n praise God](note from Ed N.: there were actually 14,500 kids at Youth Day) n lemme tell u, it was soooo awesome!! Its just so hard to explain how fun it was b/c words can't express wat i felt. When I first walked in the room, I suddenly felt the Holy Spirit gather around me. IT was sooo crazy! it was just one step, n i just felt like all my sins have been lifted. My group and I sat down in our rows, n we were just dancin n havin a great time. The band who sang was just awesome. I learned "o0o0o0o0o0o" with our arms above our head, and of course sayin "Je-SuS, Je-Sus" in a gangster way. haha people who went noes wat i mean. Then Father Tony gave his sermon and it was just amazing! he is soo good! yea, i've been thru priest being boring n all, but Fr. Tony was waaay different. I couldn't stop listening to him! Then this lady came n gave her sermon, and I just realized even more that we're all *wonders of God* "I'm a wonder!!" lol...really cool. Then mass started. It was amazingly beautiful and sensational. I was tearin up when they played "saint in the making" n all the other worship songs. Fr. Tony gave another sermon, n it was so funny with a great lesson behind it: "my mama was a chicken...my daddy was a chicken...we do chicken things....I'ma chicken!!" LOL but in the end we're all eagles if we believe we are. i noe sounds weird, but if u were there, it wouldn't so weird. oh yea, n i saw a couple of people from St. Matt's and St. Mary's- really cool to see em. Then we ate lunch n everythin was chill. Then we moved into the main arena, n it was just packed! but we got great seats. so amazing to see how many teens were there..just awesome. Then Bible Geek and Matt Mahr was there! they were soo good! Bible Geek really caught my attention, and just made me realize how much love God has for us....it so amazing! i mean no matter how much things we do wrong, God still love us....more than we can imagine. I love God so much! ah...then Matt Mahr started singing, n it was so awesome how he did "hey ya" to a worship song...sounded real cool. Then it was meditation time. Matt Mahr sang "Amazing Grace" n i just started crying. I felt the Holy Spirit, n nothing more than that can make u feel so wonderful and filled with happiness. I seriously felt God's presence surrounding each n everyone there. Then the band who played in the beginning came again, n it was again...awesomeness. my friends n I couldn't stop dancing and clapping our hands. some people went to the stage rite away n gettin all crazy...but things went well after they told em to go to their seats. but oh man...the whole praise and worship couldn't get any better. "yo ho, yo ho, a CaThoLiC LiFe FoR Me!!" haha...great times… Then Youth Day ended, n my heart just grew even bigger for God's love. I just love everyone b/c we have God in each and every one of us. n I remeber Fr. Tony saying "Don't be STUPID" [one of the main quotes of the nite] meaning that if u want to get thru life, dont do anything stupid! n we all noe wats stupid n wat isn't. We have God in our minds, n when we follow him, there won't be any "stupid" decisions that we'll be making. I just had an awesome day and I am soo thankful for it. I love God so much and he loves u. He'll always be there to help u and guide u thru ur troubles n anything u ask for. He just needs u to invite him and just open the door a lil. n he'll take care of the rest. I love u all! n remember he loves u too!" *ask* *seek* *knock*
