Commission members – Don Trentman, Chairperson; Bob Schwab, Bob Fischer, Rory Dahlinghaus, Todd Imwalle, Mary Lauterbach, Susan Ehlenbach, Bill Gustin, Jim Mieding, and Cathy Campbell.
The vision for this commission includes the meaningful involvement and engagement of people in the mission of the church and its future. All aspects of development include stewardship, fund development, weekly collections, sponsorship solicitations, grant writing, planned giving and memorial gifts. In addition, this commission encompass all areas of communications and printed publications of the Parish.
Development Commission Ministries
Crossroads Challenge
The Development Commission manages the Crossroad Challenge Campaign which began in 2007 for the purpose of debt reduction and ongoing facilities needs. The campaign goal was set to raise over $1 Million to match a $1 Million donation. The campaign is currently ongoing.
School TAP
The Alternative Plan is a program for families of students at St. Christopher to give in their weekly contributions to help offset the parish subsidy of the school. This is a voluntary program was designed to help keep tuition at an affordable rate.
PTO
Provide resources both in volunteer service and financial support to the principal, staff, students and families of St. Christopher School. Their goals are to help promote a better educational experience for all students.
Athletic Boosters
Provides and organizes St. Christopher School CYO athletics.
Boosters Fish Fry/ Monte Carlo
This is an annual fund raising event for the Boosters athletic programs.
Grateful Believers
Stewardship initiative set into motion in the summer of 2007 to build the message of gratitude in giving of the gifts of time, talents, and treasures. Grateful Believers included a ministry fair.
Hospitality Committee
This is a continuation of the Grateful Believers initiative to enhance and build a more welcoming parish. They are focused on three areas: develop St. Christopher to be known as a welcoming parish, expand our outreach to new and existing members by communicating effectively the ministries we offer, and incorporate a spirit of hospitality by recognizing volunteers.
Festival
Annual event held in June. First festival was when the church was first built and continues each year as a fund raising event for the parish. The festival includes games of chance, food, carnival rides, bingo and entertainment.
5-K Run
This is an annual fund raising event to benefit the Youth Ministry mission trips.
Collection Counters
Oversee weekly collections during mass.
Lenten Fish Fry
The Development Commission communicates the events and helps to insure a community of togetherness through the Lenten Fish Fry’s and After Lenten Fish Fry programs.
Knight of Columbus
The Knight of Columbus is a Catholic, family, fraternal service organization dedicated to the principles of charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism. Through service to the parish, family, community, and country members serve God and our fellow man. St. Christopher Parish is represented by fraternity #12912.
Bulletin, Newsletter, Website
The Development Commission oversees the communications efforts of the parish through all the means available. These areas include printed or virtual tools to convey information on activities and upcoming events to parishioners.
Religious Articles Store
As a source of income for the parish, the Religious Articles Store, located off of the Gathering Space, provides a convenient source of religious ariticles and literature.
