The Religious Education Program at Christ the King is designed for students not attending a Catholic School, who desire to learn more about their Catholic faith. Classes are available for children who are four years old by June 1st, (December 1st for Michigan residents) through the eighth grade, and are staffed by trained volunteer catechists, many of whom are classroom teachers. Most of our catechists are also parents, like you, whose children currently attend or are graduates of our program! The Religious Education Program is coordinated by Linda Fitzpatrick and Teresa Oross. Each grade explores the four pillars of the Catholic faith. Creed, Sacraments, Morality and Prayer, on an age appropriate level. The books used are diocesan approved, based on the curriculum designated for each grade level. REGISTRATION - Registration forms are available in the parish office or in the vestibule of the church. Registration fees are $35.00 for one student, $65.00 for two and $85.00 for three or more. Classes begin the September 17 and run through the end of April. Sacramental Preparation Planning is already underway for Sacramental Programs. It is our policy that children in the 8th Grade and younger must either be enrolled in Christ the King School or the Religious Education Program (REP) for one year prior to the year of immediate preparation for a sacrament (which is normally 2nd Grade for Reconciliation / Eucharist and 7th Grade for Confirmation). Registration is available now and throughout the summer for REP at the Rectory Office. If you or your children need to receive a sacrament, and you or your children are past the customary ages for preparation, please contact Linda Fitzpatrick at 272-3113 ext 315. Adult / Teen Confirmation and Children’s Catechumenate programs are available as needed. These are excellent opportunities to re-connect with the Church if you have been away. CLASS TIME - Classes are on Sunday mornings at the School beginning promptly at 9:00 AM until 10:15 AM.
