Week of November 9th:
Students will spend Monday reviewing for their Chapter 3 Test on Tuesday. Wednesday students will be switching books to the Pre-Algebra book and starting Chapter 7: Solving Equations and Inequalities. By the end of the week they will cover sections 1-5 and 7-2.
Week of November 16th:
Students will finish the first half of Chapter 7 by covering sections 7-3 and 7-5 on Monday and Tuesday. They will spend Wednesday and Thursday reviewing for their Chapter 7 Quiz on Friday.
Week of November 23rd:
These two days students will continue with Chapter 7 by starting inequalities.
Class description/goal:
This class will focus on preparing the 8th grade students for taking regular, college-prep, or honors level algebra their freshman year. Students will make sure material such as fractions, integers, percents, and basic graphing has been mastered. They will also cover introductory algebra topics, and depending on their results, may move beyond that into more complicated material.
