· What war was fought so the American colonists could have their independence
· When Ohio became a state
Be prepared to write two five sentence paragraphs on the essay topics of your choice.
Essay Questions for Ohio History Test
(Chapters 4&5)
On your test, you will choose two of these topics to write about. You will need to write a complete paragraph of at least five sentences for each topic you choose.
Decide which two topics you will choose. Find out the facts about each of the two and be prepared to write your paragraphs on Thursday.
Essay topics:
1. Explain why the Indians were sad after the Battle of Fallen
Timbers. Give at least three reasons.
2. Describe the life of a pioneer family. Name at least one job for the father, mother, and children.
3. Explain why so many people wanted to settle in Ohio after the American Revolution. Give at least three reasons.
4. Explain the three stages of government that Ohio went through to become a state.
5. Explain why the Americans fought in the War of 1812. Include the names of the three battles that saved Ohio.
