Co-Cathedral of St. Thomas More at 900 West Tennessee Street, Tallahassee, FL 32304 US - Saturdays for the Engaged

Marriage, as we know it in our beloved Catholic Faith, has come under attack in the last few years. Calling to mind our mission as Catholics to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to the world, and aware that Christian Marriage is part of the Good News, we began a new Marriage Preparation program here at St. Thomas More consisting of 3 separate Saturdays (approximately one month apart) that build on each other and result in a thorough Catechesis of Marriage Preparation. Over 15 couples have teamed up with counselors as well as our Parish priests and deacon to provide a varied and comprehensive program. Each Saturday consists of 3 or 4 presentation/discussion forums. Couples and/or presenters are given a topic and for approximately one 1.5 hours couples preparing to marry listen and participate in several activities designed to help them address issues that all married couples experience. The goal is to better equip couples both to communicate with each other in an effective way AND teach them and/or clarify the Church's teaching on Marriage. Our 2004-05 Schedule is as follows: Fall Series: Saturday, August 21st Saturday, September 25th Saturday, October 9th Winter Series: Saturday, January 22nd Saturday, February 12th Saturday, March 12th Spring/Summer Series: Saturday, April 16th Saturday, May 14th Saturday, June 11th All Saturday sessions begin at 9:00 AM and end at apprximately 3:00 PM. Sessions include coffee and donuts/pastries and lunch (we will try to honor individual diet preferences within reason). A donation of $90.00 is requested from all participants to cover the cost of materials and food. However, inability to pay is not a hindrance to your participation.
