PARENTS: At least one parent must be registered and active in the Parish for a minimum of four (4) months. They are expected to regularly attend the Saturday evening or Sunday liturgy and are encouraged to participate in Parish activities and be dedicated to fulfilling a Catholic life style. Parents from outside the parish, who wish to have their child baptized at St. Thomas More, must obtain permission from their home pastor, including his indication that they are active members of that parish.
In addition, parents must register and attend 2 Baptismal classes prior to the Baptism. Further information on these classes can be obtained by contacting Deacon Santiago Molina via e-mail or through the parish office (222-9630).
The classes are offered on a monthly basis on Tuesdays (usually a couple of weeks apart).

If one of the parents is not Catholic, that parent is expected to be in support of the Baptism and to be committed to the child's religious development. Parents are the primary religious educators of their children and should be committed to their formal religious education. Parents who find their faith lacking or who do not regularly participate Mass should seriously consider delaying Baptism until they are ready to accept the responsibility of raising their child in the Church.
GODPARENTS: Parents should give serious consideration to prospective godparents. Godparents should be chosen primarily for their faith commitment, since it is their responsibility to join with the parents and support the baptized person in their lifelong Christian commitment. Godparents should both be Catholic, however, one godparent may be a practicing Christian of another denomination. Godparents must be at least 16 years of age and have received the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist. Godparents from another parish must obtain a written notification from their home parish indicating that they are in good standing with the Church.
