Co-Cathedral of St. Thomas More at 900 West Tennessee Street, Tallahassee, FL 32304 US - 1st Reconciliation (Penance) andCommunion

1st Reconciliation (Penance) and
Communion

Tom Neal updated 1/14/2005

January 4, 2005 Feast of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Dear Parent, It is hard to believe, but the final stages of preparation have begun as your child nears the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist. It is also, for me, the first time I will have my own child in the process, and so I feel a special closeness with all of you! This is an exceptionally important time in your child’s faith formation, and your own approach to this crucial moment in their spiritual lives will have a lasting impact on their faith. To facilitate this immediate preparation, we will have special meetings for you and for your child to help you focus yourselves on the meaning our faith brings to these two holy sacraments. This Sunday, January 9th at the 10:00 a.m. Mass we will have the Rite of Enrollment when your children’s names will be called and they will receive a special blessing for their preparations. We ask that all Trinity and Homeschoolers who plan to receive sacraments begin attending the Sunday, 8:45 a.m. classes with Mrs. Mayne and Ms. Hill this Sunday in the Student Lounge, and continue up through the end of April. For First Reconciliation:

Three parent/child classes (the first 2 are for parents, while the third will combine parents and children):
  1. January 11,
  2. January 25 in Seminar Room #1 from 7:00-8:15 p.m.
  3. February 8 from 7:00-8:00 p.m. in the Church
Retreat: Saturday, February 19th from 9-12 noon in the Social Hall

Celebration of First Reconciliation: Saturday, March 5th at 10:00 a.m. in the Church
For First Eucharist:
Three parent/child classes (the first 2 are for parents, while the third will combine parents and children):
  1. March 15,
  2. March 29 in Seminar Room #1 from 7:00-8:15 p.m.
  3. April 12 from 7:00-8:00 p.m. in the Church
Retreat: Saturday, April 30th from 9-12 noon in the Social Hall

Celebration of First Holy Communion: May 1st at the 10:00 a.m. Mass
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this schedule, please feel free to call or email Tom Neal or Maureen Brown-Muir. I want to thank you for your patience with the schedule changes and adjustments as Deacon Molina’s sudden departure to Quincy and my appointment to his position was a bit discombobulating for all involved! Please remember Deacon in your prayers. If you have not already begun to, please take time every day to offer to God a prayer and a sacrifice for your child as they prepare to encounter Jesus in the sacraments of His mercy. In Christ, Tom Neal Director of Religious Education
