What is Renew? Renew is a spiritual enrichment program based on small Christian communities in which people come together to share their faith and life. Renew offers us an opportunity to respond to the call of the Holy Father and our Bishop for new evangelization! Renew’s small Christian community groups are comprised of 8 to 12 people who come together for an hour and a half, once a week, for six weeks, to: … Read and reflect on the Scriptures … Pray together … Get to know others in our parish … Share our faith The focus of the third season of Renew is “Reaching Out through Evangelization”. The weekly small group meetings will use a faith sharing booklet based on the weekly lectionary readings. Renew groups will meet and study the weekly readings, and reflect on those readings in relation to the lives of the group members. Imagine how enriching the Sunday readings will be after having reflected and discussed them beforehand, in a small faith sharing group! The themes for each week are: Week 1 – Living and Witnessing Week 2 – Sharing and Inviting Week 3 – Sharing Our Stories Week 4 – Preaching the Good News in Today’s World Week 5 – Christians Coming Together Week 6 – Unity in the Human Family Join us for a spritually deepening and community building experience! Renew is designed for dioceses and parishes that wish to respond to the call of the Holy Father and our Bishop for new evangelization and to build upon and strengthen small Christian communities as a pastoral approach for the 21st century. § Renew highlights our need to protect and preserve the resources of the earth § Renew provides tools to help meet the growing longing in people’s hearts and souls for the holy § Renew provides a gateway to discover the powerful riches we have as Christians § Renew provides an experience of community in a world filled with isolation How Does Renew Work? Renew’s small Christian community groups are comprised of 8 to 12 people who come together once a week for six weeks for an hour and a half in order to: § Read and reflect on the Scriptures § Pray together § Share each other’s lives and faith § Respond in action Renew has Five Seasons Season I - God, a Community of Love Begins Oct. 6th, continues for 6 weeks Season II - Conversion Lent 2004 Season III - Reaching Out October/November 2004 Season IV - Reconciliation Lent 2005 Season V - Renewing for the 21st Century October/November 2005 How Can I Be a Part of Renew? There are many ways to participate in the Renew program at St. Thomas More.
