St, Matthew Columbiettes Auxiliary #10852 in Charlotte, NC was founded in March 2000. The charities we support primarily benefit women and children. Some of the charities we have supported over the years are: Room at the Inn (a home for single mothers and their children), Catherine's House (a shelter for homeless women and children), and A Child's Place (a charity that provides lunches for school-age children in homeless shelters). In addition to these ongoing services, our auxiliary also votes on one charity to give strictly financial support for the year, as well as donating to our own parish. We are also active in our parish, sponsoring such events as Junk in the Trunk, Line Dancing classes, hand-made Teddy Bear Sale, our annual Apple Pie Bake Sale, Sweetheart Dance, Irish Stew/Chocolate Sundae, St. Patrick's Day Dinner and Dancing, Mother-Daughter Luncheon and Fashion Show, and a Father's Day Brunch. We have also hosted the parish's annual Women's Day of Prayer and Reflection as well as plan our own auxiliary retreats.
