St. Peter the Apostle Knights of Columbus at 519 Rush Street, Itasca, IL 60143 US - Learn more About Us

Learn more About Us
The Knights of Columbus were founded in 1882 by Father Michael J. McGivney. The order was created to help Catholic men and their families "remain steadfast in their faith" (These Men they Call Knights) The St. Peter the Apostle Council of the Knights was chartered in 1989 in Itasca, IL. Every Knights of Columbus council is at heart a religious service organization and we are no different. Whether it be collecting on the streets for mentally handicapped citizens or serving our parish and pastor as laymen, our council makes service a living and breathing entity. In addition to our belief in serving others, the Knights of Columbus is also a religious organization, deeply rooted in the faith of Catholicism and our devotion to Mary. Since our council's charter we have been quite involved with many of our parish's celebration of the Blessed Virgin. Since Mary was at the heart of the Holy Family, it is important to our council, and the Knights of Columbus to promote life and family. In 2001, we held our first Pro-Life baby shower at St. Peter's and the results were spectatular. In fact, we were commended for our wonderful and bountiful donations. For a more in-depth history of the Knights and our Council, please examine our History page.
