Virtus Training Schedule for Employees and Volunteers

Protecting God’s Children

 

For all employees and volunteers of the

Diocese of Covington who in any way

provide a safe environment for children.


Step 1: Complete a volunteer

application and acceptance form

at your parish or school.


Step 2:
Register and attend a class. 
Parents and other interested persons

are most welcome. 

No Children, please.

 Step 3: 

Bulletins will begin only after you have

completed your live training and been

processed. You will receive courtesy

email notices that say system@virtus.org

unless your computer program blocks them.

 

Access your bulletins (12 per year), using

these directions:

 

-www.virtus.org

-Enter your ID (email address) and

  password

-Click on MY TRAINING at top toolbar

-Click on Training Bulletin Report on

  right green panel

 click on (click for details)

-Choose a bulletin to read
-Hit SUBMIT after finishing EACH article.

 

Once a year you will also receive a

longer bulletin called "recertification

module."  Click on the email notice

to read this one OR

-Enter ID and password

-Click on MY TRAINING at top toolbar

-Click on ONLINE TRAINING MODULE

 on left green panel

-Click on article to read.

 

After three years of faithfully reading

your monthly bulletins, you will change

to 5 modules per year.  You need NOT

read bulletins.  Access your modules the

same way you accessed your bulletins.

 

To Update Your Account or
Change Where You  Volunteer:
-www.virtus.org

-Enter your ID (email address) and

 password

-Click on UPDATE MY ACCOUNT

-Edit your information and save

 If you attended a session but are not

receiving your monthly bulletins or are

having difficulties with the program,

please call Anita Geiger at

859-392-1565 or email
ageiger@covingtondiocese.org.

 

"Personal Safety Parent/Child" is a safe
environment program for children whose parents
want to be part of their safe environment training.

It is an alternative to the program taught to students
in the classroom in school and parish schools
of religion.  A certificate is provided for the child
to take to school or parish school of religion 
as proof of training.  The program is offered
to grades 4,5 and 6.

Cost: 1$15 per family

Adults must be present with child(ren).
