Mission Statement

The Inclusive Education Committee of the Diocese of Covington, a representative group of parents, educators and professionals, is an advisory committee to the Department of Catholic Education.

The Committee encourages the educational ministries of the diocese to provide services to persons with special needs and shares information with the wider community to increase awareness of special needs.

The Committee functions as a support group among persons involved in this ministry.

This we believe…

• all children are unique and have a right to education that reflects their needs.
  
• educators have an obligation to create a learning environment to meet the needs of every child.
  
• the educational programs in the Diocese of Covington need to reflect the United States bishops’ pastoral statement (1978) to reach out in love to everyone.
  
• inclusive education is a cooperative effort of parents, educators and students.
