Members present: Mary Ann Grimm, Anita Dunn, Sister Mary Francis Dirr, S.N.D., Jan Ankenbauer, Mary Kay Laird

Meeting opened with prayer by Anita Dunn at 3:45p.m.
Mary Ann Grimm welcomed Gail Frommeyer, Special Education Resource at NDA.
Motion to approve Mary Kay Laird; seconded Jan Ankenbauer. Minutes approved with one change to financial.
Mike Quigley presented members with the current statement showing $1202.33 in the account. Discussion of how much of fund should be allotted. Committee discussed requests from St Mary and St. Thomas Schools. Decision was to fund one teacher from St. Mary’s to Attend seminar at Springer at $125.00 and donate $50.00 towards St. Thomas’s summer in-service endeavor. Anita Dunn motioned to approve the additional $75.00 over original 20% set aside for schools; Mary Kay Laird seconded the motion. Motion approved.
Further discussion related to seeking additional sponsors and searching for grants to give more money for programs/services. Jan Ankenbauer will pursue an Education Endowment after getting forms from Mike Quigley.
Breakfast/Social- Jan Ankenbauer has been calling schools requesting names. Ms. Frommeyer expressed interest. She has wanted to get the high school special education teachers together and was looking to do that in early August. Members discussed pros/cons of committee versus NDA hosting and whether high school elementary should be together or not. Jan Ankenbauer suggested one meeting for all at start hosted by Committee and second after school at the teachers convenience. Ms. Frommeyer will think this over and further discussion will continue in March.
Services-Jan Ankenbauer and Mary Kay Laird presented a revised list of action points/ideas. Committee is looking to develop a list of good speakers in relation to education needs, such as David Braukman and Ann Anazalone. Members will check with Dr. Cox-Cruey of Kenton County and MaryNel Kephart of the Northern KY Consortium.
Mary Kay Laird and Jan Ankenbauer are meeting with Father Due on Committee goals. General discussion followed on support or lack of and the frustration of not doing needed things.
Mary Ann Grimm would like to step down as Chairperson due to other commitments. Jan Ankenbauer and Mary Kay Laird expressed interest in co-chairing. Tabled until March. Members expressed a wish that Dr. Bowman could attend our meetings.
Sister Francis brought up the possibility of meeting at the new offices. Discussion will be in march on move.
Meeting adjourned at 5:10 p.m.
The next meeting will be held at St. Agnes Rectory Conference Room on Wednesday, March 8th, at 3:45 p.m.
Directions: If you park to the right of the church, you will see the Mary Grotto. There is a sidewalk just to the left of the statue that leads down a set of steps next to the rectory and under the deck. The Conference room is the last door. You could also go to the main church office and the secretary will send you down.
