Covington Latin School is seeking to hire a part-time Guidance Counselor to work approximately 3 days per week. Applicants should have at least two years of high school counselor experience and the appropriate credentials. The position will include duties involving personal, academic and college counseling. The Catholic Schools Office of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati seeks a dynamic and motivated person to fulfill the duties of the Director of the Eastern Region & NW Schools. This individual will serve as the primary liaison for the Catholic Schools Office for elementary schools in the Eastern Region and Northwest Cluster of the Archdiocese. Duties provide designated oversight, service, and support for assigned schools. This position will work under the Superintendent of Catholic Schools in the Catholic Schools Office. This position will be located in the Dayton Catholic Schools Office.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Acts as representative of the Catholic Schools Office with elementary schools in Dayton and Northern Regions of the Archdiocese.
2. Monitors the quality of the academic and spiritual programs at assigned schools. Monitors school performance on generated metrics.
3. Ensures that the policies and practices of each assigned school are in compliance with Archdiocesan policies as well as applicable local, state, and federal laws.
4. Maintains frequent and positive lines of communication with each assigned school’s principal. Maintains frequent and positive lines of communication with each school’s pastor and/or board (as defined by the governance structure).
5. Acts as a source of support and resource for the administration of each assigned school.
6. Initiates and constructs the regular evaluations of new and existing principals in assigned schools.
7. Responds to questions, issues, and complaints emerging from each assigned school. Refers significant or controversial issues to the Superintendent.
8. Collects and reviews required documents from each assigned school (annual calendar, policy handbooks, etc.) as required by Archdiocesan policy.
9. Coordinates and, when necessary, chairs cluster meetings of assigned schools.
10. Provides support for principal searches for assigned schools. Serves on principal search committees when requested and appropriate.
11. Visits each assigned school at least three times per year to meet with the principal and observe school operations.
12. Coordinates the Catholic Schools Week Mass in Dayton. Assists with the Northern Region Mass.
13. Coordinates the Dayton Teacher Recognition Banquet.
14. Attends designated meetings and professional development sessions.
15. Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum of Master’s degree in Education.
• At least three years of service as principal in a school setting (Catholic school administration preferred).
• Demonstrated strong public relations skills, including verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work positively and collaboratively.
• Ability to work in a complex organizational setting.
• High aptitude in information technologies.
• Must be a practicing Catholic with a personal faith commitment.

The Catholic Diocese of Columbus is looking for an Episcopal Moderator of Catholic Education to serve as the primary voice of the Bishop in carrying out his prophetic role as the teaching authority for the Catholic faithful enrolled in Catholic schools, Religious Education, and Youth & Young Adult Ministry in the Diocese of Columbus. The Episcopal Moderator for Education serves the critical function of advisor to the Bishop and spiritual and educational leader in the Diocese.

The Superintendent of Catholic Schools is responsible for 42 elementary and 11 high schools in the Diocese. This position works closely with the Pastors, Administrators, and individual Principals to promote the operation of a Catholic school system which reflects the highest ideals of Catholic education, meets the expectations of parents, and complies with the requirements of the state of Ohio’s Department of Education. In addition, this position serves as the administrator providing day-to-day advice and consultation on situations arising in Catholic school education. This includes, but is not limited to, providing direction and guidance on long and short term planning, budgeting and financial stewardship, educational and instructional standards, continuing formation and certification of teachers, contractual issues, staffing issues, and over site of the Central Ohio Teachers Association (COACE).
Qualifications for the position: Minimum of a Master’s degree in Educational Administration or similar content area, PhD preferred, from approved institutions of higher learning. Professional development is mandatory to remain current in best educational practices; Educator's License from the State of Ohio. Minimum of ten years of successful experience in the operation of elementary and/or secondary schools, preferably in a Catholic school system, as a principal or superintendent. Successful experience as a superintendent of schools is preferred.

Passing a background screening and completion of the VIRTUS “Protecting God’s Children” course are mandatory. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. All benefits are according to Diocesan policy.
