Throughout our history, the Church of the Diocese of Covington, our parishes, schools and other organizations have been the beneficiaries of bequests and other planned gifts. These gifts have helped construct and renovate churches and schools, established and enhanced endowment funds, initiated new programs and assisted in many other ways to ensure that future generations will have the "Good News" of our faith shared with them. Many of the acomplishments of our local church can be attributed to the foresight and faithful stewardship of these and other thoughtful members of our diocesan family.
The Legacy Society of the Diocese of Covington is a recognition club which offers the church the opportunity to honor and thank our benevolent friends who profess their faith as Christian Stewards in a special way by making provisions in their estate plans for God's work.
Membership is open to all friends of the Diocese who wish to "Leave a Legacy" for future generations by ensuring that the ministries of the church will be available for those who need them and that the gospel will be proclaimed to all. Each and every gift makes a difference. A gift from your estate can be a final profession of your faith and of your love for your brothers and sisters in Christ.
How Can I Become A Member of the Legacy Society?
You may enroll in the Legacy Society by making the church a beneficiary of your estate plans. These plans may include bequests, life insurance, charitable gift annuities, trusts or gifts from your retirement plans.
Since every gift is important, there is no minimum amount to qualify for membership. Written notification of the gift is preferred, however, disclosure of the gift amount is optional. Donors may choose to remain anonymous.
Your gift may be undesignated or designated. It may be directed for the benefit of an individual parish, school, diocesan agency, organization, or institution or for the benefit of the mission of the Diocese.
As a faithful steward, you have supported your church through your prayers, your presence, your involvement, and your financial resources. When you are gone, you and your support will be missed. Reflect upon the depth and meaning of faith in your life and the blessings you have received, then consider providing for the mission of the church in an everlasting way.
