Grand Knights Report:  SK Mitch Dobrzelewski, OD .

October was a very busy month and I am pleased and proud of the outstanding contributions of so many of our Brother Knights in all the projects and activities: Membership, Parish 40th Anniv., Texas Hold’em ,40 Days for Life, KCIC Sales, Statewide Food Drive, Halloween Trunk or Treat, and others.

Our Membership efforts continue with 5 so far this year and 3 Major Degree exemplifications – with several additional prospects we hope to induct soon. My thanks to Justin Voss and the Membership Committee for all their efforts  in following up with candidates and to those who have obtained Form 100s from prospective new members. We have more work to do, and I ask each member to renew their personal commitment to approach, invite, and encourage those who might consider joining us as Knights, wherever we might encounter them, as we each fulfill our obligation in the vital area of Membership.

Congratulations also to our Insurance Rep. Doug Nuremberg on his completion of intensive additional training at Supreme Headquarters. We are very fortunate to have such an involved and informed individual as an incredible resource to our Council in service to our prospective and current Knights.

Our active engagement and emphasis on Respect for Life issues continues, with support through the $2 Culture of Life per capita contributions and establishment of Pro- Life as a 6th Project Category. The struggle against abortion funding continues in the health care legislative debate currently moving to the US Senate, with encouraging developments.  Please review the statement by the USCCB and your Columbia magazine for more information on positions and perspectives, and I urge you to continue your involvement and prayer in defense of the unborn & for advancement of Life for all. You CAN make a difference!

And I want to reiterate the importance of our committment to the State Council Raffle and the myriad charitable efforts it helps support.  Thank you to those that have purchased or assisted with promotion, and urge each member to participate in whatever way you can. Note: Each ticket sold earns $1 for the Council. Each seller qualifies for $1000 special drawing. I have plenty of additional tickets available.
