Brother Knights and Ladies,
A big thank you to everyone who pitched in to help with set up last Fri. morning and clean up after the Parish 40th Anniversary Celebration. Having so many on hand to lend a hand really made it go smoothly. I was unable to attend, but I've heard nothing but positives of how nice of an event it was, so thank you all very much for your part in making it all possible.
Reminders.....
The Council 40 Days for Life Prayer Vigil is this Friday, Oct. 30 at 6500 Centurion Drive behind the R Club in Lansing. We have some Knights who have signed up for specific times 8am - 2 pm. Currently, we have no coverage from 2- 5 pm, so if you can be there that afternoon, please let me know. Even if you didn't sign up and find yourself with some free time on Friday, consider making the drive to join your Brother Knights in public vigil outside the Women's Health Services Clinic where abortions are regularly performed, and spend some time in prayer against this
ongoing evil scourge against lives not yet born. If you just can't make it, take some time that day especially to pray with us for this intention. Let your voice be heard publicly
or privately - You CAN make a difference.
Halloween Trunk or Treat is happening 6:30 - 8:30 pm after 5pm Mass at St. Jude - in the South parking area, weather permitting. We have only a very few people signed up to participate, and could use to have more come and join in the fun for the Trick or Treaters. The Knights will have coffee, cider, cookies/donuts, and hopefully hot chocolate available - All you have to bring is a card table and a supply of treats (individually wrapped, please) to pass out to the kids passing through. Easy as pie, and should be good fun.

If possible, Contact Bob Neiman if you plan to attend, or just show up if you decide last minute. Just BYO Candy !
Keep Christ in Christmas Sales begin this weekend after Masses. Contact Jim Sigmon at fasigjrs@aol.com to volunteer to help, and stop by the table to purchase cards and other items for the Holiday that support this statewide
initiative of the Knights of Columbus.
Our Texas Hold 'em fundraiser is next week - Nov.2 -4.
The funds this event generates so greatly enables our Council to continue to provide needed support for charitable activities within our Parish and all the projects we are privileged to serve as Knights. We still need additional volunteers - no experience necessary. It's easy and fun, plus you'll get a free meal!

Lastly, remember the St. Francis Retreat Center Fundraiser at St. Gerard Sun. Nov. 8, featuring music by Blackthorne.
Contact the Retreat center office 669- 8321 for tickets.
And, if you didn't get the memo, Clergy Night will NOT be Nov. 8. Tentatively rescheduled for Jan. 31 at Westphalia.
