St. Judes Knights of Columbus at 801 N. Bridge St., Dewitt, MI 48820 US - Right to Life Prayer
Right to Life Prayer
To all Brother Knights, Friends, and Family,
This Prayer for Life was recited by those gathered for our monthly Rosary at St. Judes yesterday. Several of you asked that I distribute a copy via email, and I have extended this to others on my list as well. Today, as we are mindful of the Feast of All Souls, it seems especially appropriate.
Also, from Fr. Dwights announcement and the insert included in our bulletin this weekend, we know that
Congress is preparing perhaps later this week to vote on the much publicized and politically charged proposed health care legislation. The US Conference of Catholic Bishops has found the bills presently being considered to be deficient on the issues of abortion, protection of conscience, and access for the poor, and has issued a NationwideBulletin and urgent call to contact your legislators immediately and urge them to include pro-life amendments that have so far been rejected. More complete information is available at
www.usccb.org/healthcare and www.usccb.org/action for a pre-written email you can send to Congress. Or contact individual Member websites via www.house.gov or www.senate.gov or call their offices. Act today to demand that our legislators maintain the sanctity of all human life in the policies that will impact our health care system for many years to come. And you might wish to recite the attached prayer for good measure. Feel free to pass this along.
Thank you.
Mitch
PRAYER FOR LIFE
O Mary, bright dawn of the new world, Mother of the living, to you
do we entrust the cause of life. Look down, O Mother, upon the vast
numbers of babies not allowed to be born, of the poor whose lives are
made difficult, of men and women who are victims of brutal violence,
of the elderly and the sick killed by indifference or misguided mercy.
Grant that all who believe in your Son may proclaim the Gospel of life
with honesty and love to the people of our time. Obtain for them the
Grace to accept that Gospel as a gift ever new, the joy of celebrating it
with gratitude throughout their lives and the courage to bear witness
to it resolutely, in order to build, together with all people of good will,
the civilization of truth and love, to the praise and glory of God, the
