St. Judes Knights of Columbus at 801 N. Bridge St., Dewitt, MI 48820 US - Adult Foster Care Assistance at 11:00am Mass

So far my notes in the bulletin have not resulted in any offers of assistance but Audrey has recruited Deb Smith to help during the summer when she is not singing in the choir and I also talked Donna Belgowan from choir to help during the summer.  So that will help for awhile.  Maybe each of us can talk to some of our friends telling them how easy this is and how easy it is to see the face of Christ in the people we help.  That might inspire some to offer their assistance after the summer months. 

In the meantime, I have been hearing that Jimmy seems to want to go up with the line to communion.  I haven't been able to find out it he is able to take anything by mouth in addition to his tube feeding but it would certainly be ok for him to go up to receive a blessing from Fr. Dwight or whatever Eucharistic Minister was present.  You will have to help him to cross his arms like those who aren't receiving do.  I think it would mean a lot to him.  I will continue to try to contact the home so that they know what we will be doing. 

This could lead to more of the folks wanting to go forward for a blessing which would mean that we would need to enlist some ushers or others to help but that could become involved.  I just heard that Bob made such a request at the K of C meeting last night and told the fellows how much this ministry means to him.  Thanks, Bob.

Anyway, please look over your summer plans and let me know ASAP when you will be available during July, August and September so that I can get a new schedule out before the end of this month.  I appreciate your participation with these friends who love worshiping with us.
