Hello!  My Name is Colette Kennett and I serve as the Director of Youth Ministry.  I invite you to "come and see" our revised website which is filled with tools to assist  parishes in the implementation of comprehensive youth ministry.

The Diocesan Office of Youth Ministry is proud to serve Catholic parishes within 28 counties of Southern Illinois.  Our mission is to serve those serving the Young Catholic Church in the Diocese of Belleville.  Our goals are rooted in a comprehensive youth ministry model as stated in Renewing the Vision, a document of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.  These goals include:

 

Goal 1:  To empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today.

 

Goal 2:  To draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the Catholic faith community.

 

Goal 3:  To foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person.

 

We strive to provide resources and support to our parishes in addition to a variety of outreach opportunities for our youth.  We do this utilizing the eight components of comprehensive youth ministry which include:  Advocacy, Catechesis, Community Life, Evangelization, Justice and Service, Leadership Development, Pastoral Care and Prayer and Worship.
