LPMI Sends Forth Another Class

In the spirit of “Gathered, Nourished, Sent”, the LPMI Sent forth another group of lay ministers to serve in the diocese. On Monday, June 7, 2010 at the Cathedral of St. Jude in St. Petersburg, 24 members of the Lay Pastoral Ministry Institute were commissioned in an Evening Prayer service. Bishop Robert Lynch was the celebrant. The commissioning was the culmination of a four year formation process. Congratulations to the Class of 2010!

The recipients were greeted by the Bishop and presented their certificates. The LPMI participants attend weekly classes, theological reflection sessions, and workshops as components of their formation. Our special thanks to the faculty members and members who assist in their formation and development. We also thank their Pastors and sponsors who assist them in their ministry within their respective parishes. Our deepest gratitude goes to their family members who have patiently supported and encouraged them over these years.
 
 The LPMI program is accredited by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops Commission on Certification and Accreditation.
