World Day for Consecrated Life
In 1997, John Paul II called for consecrated life to be promoted throughout the Universal Church. He declared February 2, the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord, to be observed as World Day for Consecrated Life . . . (more).
The Bishops of Florida and the Florida Catholic Conference invite you to again join them in Tallahassee on March 10 & 11, 2009. Catholic Days at the Capitol will begin with a legislative briefing and reception on the afternoon of Tuesday, March 10. On Wednesday, March 11, you will have an opportunity to meet your legislators, attend a luncheon with our Catholic legislators, as well as to participate in the Red Mass concelebrated by the Bishops for public servants.
Prince of Peace Parish is working on obtaining a bus for transportation. Please contact Sabrina if you are interested. We need to decide if this is feasible. CCHD Internship
Participate in a Diocesan internship with the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD)
The Diocesan Office of Life Ministry will be offering a part-time, paid internship between the months of September 2009 and April 2010. Applications are due by March 1st. This internship is supported by a grant from The Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD). CCHD works to address the root causes of poverty, increase Catholics' awareness of poverty in the U.S., educate about Catholic social tradition, and build bridges between poor and non-poor communities. Select "Events Calendar", the select Safe Environment Program. There you will find the Calendar of diocesan events through the end of the year to include SEP Workshops. Look for posted trainings in the month you wish to see.

In both instances potential attendees will need to RSVP to the individual point of contact listed for each workshop location to register for the workshop.
