Change in Pastoral Bulletin's Publication Schedule

Starting with our next issue (July 18), we will change the publication day of the pastoral bulletin to Mondays instead of Fridays. The revised Summer Schedule is as follows:

July 18 (Deadline July 15)

August 1 (deadline July 29)

August 15 (D Aug 12)

August 29 (D Aug 26)

September 12 (D Sept 9) ~ Resume Weekly Schedule

IMPLEMENTATION OF THE NEW ROMAN MISSAL

On June 16th at the Spring Assembly of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), Archbishop Gregory Aymond, chairman of the USCCB's Committee on Divine Worship, announced that diocesan bishops can permit the gradual introduction of the musical settings of the people's parts of the Mass for the new Roman Missal starting in September (cf. USCCB link ).

On June 22, 2011, Bishop Lynch gave his permission for parishes to begin this gradual introduction of various acclamations of the Mass in order to more effectively introduce these new texts, all of which are set to be implemented on the First Sunday of Advent, November 27, 2011. (more...)
