For more information, visit our diocesan website www.dosp.org.

Cathedral Renovations

The Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle, the spiritual center for the over 400,000 parishioners who worship in the Diocese of St. Petersburg, was built in 1963 and needs considerable repairs, replacements, and renovations. After a thorough analysis, it was determined that renovating the Cathedral would ultimately be more cost-effective than making repairs or constructing an entirely new building. The renovated Cathedral will serve as a temple to and for the glory of God and serve as a diocesan model for the liturgical life of the Church.

Renovations begin in June 2012 and will take approximately 12 months to complete. While the Cathedral is under construction, celebrations of diocesan-wide events will be moved to St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Clearwater unless otherwise announced. Updates will be posted regularly on the diocesan website www.dosp.org.

Free Hymnals to a good home...

St. Jude Cathedral has approximately 850 Gather 2nd Ed. hymnals in good to fair condition for any parish that can use them. Keep in mind they were published as a companion hymnal to Worship and contain primarily contemporary hymns/songs (Haugen, Haas, Joncas, etc.) A keyboard accompaniment book is available as well. Contact Chris Berke at the Cathedral office, by email: cberke@cathedralofstjude.org or 727-347-9702.

Also available are approximately 350 Journeysongs 2nd Ed. hymnals in fair to good condition.
