    1. PRAYER TO BEGIN THE DAY

As Morning breaks I think of you, O Lord, and my desire is to serve You joyfully. With gladness, I consecrate this day to Your Sacred Heart, and offer whatever joys and sacrifices may come my way. Thank You for the graces You will send - all the love, all the beauty, and the ways You will answer my prayers.

Today, may I love my enemies, and treat others as I would ask to be treated; may I forgive seventy-times-seven and show mercy; may I welcome the prodigal, have compasion for the Samaritan; be a peace-maker and love my neighbor unconditionally. Take all my heart, and mind and strength, O Lord, that this day may be truly lived for Your greater honor and glory and for the salvation of souls. Amen.

    13. MAGNIFICAT

My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior; Because he has regarded the lowliness of his handmaid; for, behold, henceforth all generations shall call me blessed; Because he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name; And his mercy is from generation to generation on those who fear him. He has shown might with his arm, he has scattered the proud in the conceit of their heart. He has put down the mighty from their thrones, and has exalted the lowly. He has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent away empty. He has given help to Israel, his servant, mindful of his mercy- Even as he spoke to our fathers- to Abraham and his posterity forever.

Make our hearts and homes your shrine, and through us make the Heart of Jesus rule and triumph in every family in the world. Amen.

    53. PRAYER FOR HOLY WEEK

Jesus my Lord, let me strengthen my courage by taking on the courage of all those people who have been "centurions" for me. Many have faced disasters and hard times with great constancy. The upper hand of evil never turned them against you. They kept going. Let me be like them, Lord. No matter what the cross, let me never stop declaring you to be "truly the Son of God, the source of my hope, the reason why i'll never quit on life." Amen.

    54. GOOD FRIDAY PRAYER

Jesus, my Lord, let me go to Mary when suffering threatens to overwhelm me. Ask your mother to stay with me when I am afraid and tempted to surrender. Let me look to Mary as my model for love, as well as my haven of healing. Make sure I am considerate of other people and notice how they are affected by their suffering. I'm not the only one. I beg you, Lord,to help me grow in compassion. If I am faaithful to you and close to your blessed mother, those who suffer will be comforted by my presence...and they will gain courage as I stand beside them, by their cross. Amen.

Grant them a healing of mind and body and restore their strength and spirit. Comfort them with the knowledge that we are praying for them, and give them peace with a sense of Your presence. 70. DAILY PRAYER FOR THE HOLY SOULS

Immortal God, holy Lord, Father and Protector of all You have created, we raise our hearts to You today for those who have passed out of this mortal life. In Your loving mercy, Father of all, be pleased to receive them in Your heavenly company, and forgive the failings and faults they may have done from human frailty. Your Son, Christ our Savior, suffered so cruelly that He might deliver them from Purgatory. By His merits may they share in the glory of His victory over sin and death. For all the faithful who have died we pray, but in particular for those dear to us, parents, relatives and friends. Nor do we forget all who did good to us while on earth, who helped us by their prayers, sacrifice, and example. We pray also for any who may have done us harm, and stand in special need of Your forgiveness. May the merits and praayers of our Virgin Mother, Mary, and those of all Your Angels and Saints, speak for us and assist them now. This we ask in Christ's name. Amen.

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty. From thence He shall come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the ressurection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

    79. PRAYER FOR THOSE WHOSE LIVES I TOUCHED

Beloved Shepherd of Souls! As I tread into the sunset of my life, I grow anxious for the spiritual welfare of souls who came to know me. It grieves me to think of the offenses they may have committed because of words or deeds of mine. I have in mind those who were my close responsibility as well as whom I sponsored in Baptism and whose spiritual condition is no longer known to me. In Your merciful goodness I now plead for the pardon of the souls who because of me have lost Your favor. Humbly I implore You, let not one of them be lost, but when they leave this world may they find glorious entry into the Kingdom of Heaven! On behalf of those who may need to atone for offenses I may have caused them to commit, I offer You any infirmities or sufferings I am to undergo during the remaining years of my life. Dear Shepherd of Souls, grant them eternal life. Amen.

Most Holy Virgin, Mother of Mercy, Comforter of the afflicted, intercede for those souls, that, by your powerful intercession, they may be admitted to enjoy that Kingdom which is prepared for them.
