As a member, you help in making it possible for the Florida Council of Catholic Women (FCCW) to continue the work of the Bishops of the U.S. Many times CCW is called on to assist our Archbishop and Bishops in Florida.

We know that not every Catholic women who becomes a member can be an active member. We also know that many of our members can not attend our meetings. As a member it may be that you attend one function per year to show your support or you may have the time to take an active part in the one project per year, and if so that is greatly appreciated.

As a member of the Council of Catholic Women, you receive the grace of prayers that members all over the world say for one another. You become a link with one of the strongest women's groups in the world, and the only Catholic lay women's organization recognized by the Bishops. As Catholic women, we share a common ground of faith and our moral value of God and our Catholic Church. If and when you can become active, you will see first hand that many Catholic women share the same feelings, traits as you. You find you are not alone, as a young mother you will find other young mothers to share the ideas/suggestions on raising of children. As your children become young adults, moving on to grandchildren, you too will change. The other Catholic women, the few women you meet along the way during that once a year function that you attend will change your life. You may find yourself more active and this can be of great benefit to you in your golden years ---- special so as you become a widow, you will find the many friends you have made during the years.

If this does not seem important to you now, look at that older woman, your mother, your neighbor. If she has been a member of the Catholic women for many years, she has found true friendship or if she became active in her later years that same is true. It is better to build up your friendship over a number of years, than to be left alone when you have all the time in the world on your hands. You may not see the benefit to yourself right away. There are many organizations out there wanting you to join. But as a Catholic women, you are invited to join other Catholic women in your parish and community to help your Catholic Church and the community in which you live.

When you pay your dues to the Council of Catholic Women, whether you will be an active member or one by name only, you are helping the council to meet the needs of the many works being done through the Council of Catholic Women. When you join the affiliation by paying your dues ($5.00 to $25.00) you become a member of a district/deanery, a member of your diocesan Council of Catholic Women, a member of the Florida Council of Catholic Women, Province of Miami (FCCW), and a member of the National Council Catholic Women (NCCW) with over 6,000 Catholic women's organizations. Serving as part of the World Union of Catholic Women's Organization (WUCWO), you are an affiliate organization of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). Your dues help to finance programs and get material to the local affiliations. Please read our mission statement, FCCW History, and go over this web site. I am sure after doing this you will want to become part of this lay Catholic women's group approved by the Florida Bishops.
