I've never written to tell you how much your words move me...but I must do so now. Today's insight was written by you...just for me. I am sure of it! If others benefit from your words too, then it is an added blessing.
Almost five years ago, I suffered a serious accident and broke my leg in multiple places. Some people looked at my leg right after the accident and said, "You will never walk again." It's amazing how words like that stick in your memory and keep playing over and over again like a bad tape during your recovery. Instead of feeling hopeful about healing and moving on with my life, I felt despair....
When my orthopaedic surgeon looked me in the face and said, "Teresa, you'll never be a nurse again," it was one of the worst days of my life. The last straw of hope I was desperately holding onto, just snapped. "My God, what do I do now," I thought? I don't know anything else....
I kept asking God, "Why?". Why did He let this happen? What could I possibly do now? How was I going to be His servant, if I couldn't walk? I was so sure I had to have a plan, that I forgot to trust in His plan and wait for Him to reveal it to me....
Your words today about trusting in His plan and waiting for Jesus to show me how to get there, really touched my heart.... I actually feel hopeful again!! I thank God for his gift of grace to you. The gift to positively touch your human family on a heart to heart level (the only thing I really understand).
