Holy Family School at 1945 Coolidge Street, San Diego, CA 92111 US - School Mission Statement & Philosophy
| School Mission Statement & Philosophy |
It is the mission of Holy Family School faculty and staff to provide a loving, Catholic community in which all students grow in love for the Lord, develop academically, socially, physically, emotionally, and spiritually, and live out their faith on a daily basis. We teach respect for all and promote service to those in need. We are committed to the ideals of Jesus Christ who is our model and inspiration.
Holy Family School serves students from the culturally, socially, and economically diverse community of Linda Vista in San Diego as well as students from throughout San Diego County.
Holistic, learner-centered programs and curriculum facilitate the growth and development of all students at Holy Family School. The faculty and staff recognize and support the parents of our students as primary educators and living role models. We are committed to Christian principles for the optimal spiritual, academic, physical, and emotional growth and learning of each student as a unique individual.
Faculty and staff are committed to instilling Gospel values in students by integrating active faith, Christian moral development, and the building of good character. Students learn to value self-respect, respect for others, responsibility, and the ideals of unity and equality. Peace and justice are fostered along with social and cultural awareness. Students are nurtured in the growth of spiritual life, individual faith journeys, devotional prayer, and quiet reflection habits within the context of our Catholic community.
The students’ development of critical and analytical thinking skills is encouraged through acquisition of knowledge, growth in competence, and spontaneous creativity in the full range of all spiritual, academic, physical, and social interaction skills. We cultivate life-long learning and Christian responsibility in our students.
Holy Family School clearly acknowledges our duty to meet, to the best of our abilities, the varied needs of our students. To meet this challenge, we call on our parents, students, parent-teacher group, alumni, and community resources to assist us.
Through loving guidance, cooperative effort, hard work, prayer, and support, each Holy Family student is holistically prepared to participate actively in the life of family, church, and communities of the 21st century.
