Holy Angels Church at 18205 Chillicothe Road, Chagrin Falls, OH 44023 US - Home

Welcome to Holy Angels

Taizé Prayer Service - Pentecost Sunday, May 19, 2013

Let your heart and mind rest in the Lord. Come and share in an evening of Taizé Prayer. Taizé prayer is a type of reflective prayer set to music, with the repetition of words accompanied in song. The setting is usually darkened, with candles for lighting; a brief period of silence for reflection, and a psalm or scripture verse is often said between the songs. It is a time to settle in the night with the Lord, and listen to his voice in the peace of the surroundings.

The Taizé Prayer Service from 7:30 p.m. - 8:15 p.m. in the Worship Space. All are welcomed to attend and experience the presence of God in a peaceful yet powerful way.

Year of Faith: May 2013 - Holy Spirit

"I believe in the Holy Spirit"

"To believe in the Holy Spirit means to worship him as God just like the Father and the Son. It means to believe that the Holy Spirit comes into our hearts so that we as children of God might know our Father in heaven.  Moved by God's Spirit, we can change the face of the earth." (YOUCAT 113)

We are given the Holy Spirit at our Baptism.  The Spirit of God is with us always.  When we receive the Sacrament of Confirmation we do not receive any more Holy Spirit but our wisdom and awareness of the Gifts of the Spirit are manifested in us.

We have everything we need to be able to discern God's call.

Year of Faith Pilgrimage
Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, encouraged us during this Year of Faith to seek opportunities to deepen our faith and renew our baptismal call to holiness. A pilgrimage to a sacred place, especially one we might not have visited before, can be an ideal occasion for this. In addition, in observance of this Year of Faith, the Church offers pilgrims the gift of indulgences as a chance to open themselves to the purity of heart and penitential spirit associated with this special year.

Begin Your Pilgrimage:

Bishop Richard Lennon has designated the parishes below as pilgrimage sites in the Diocese of Cleveland for the Year of Faith. You will receive a "Pilgrim Passport" at the first parish you visit (available at each location). As you journey to each site, the passport will be stamped at for that location.

As members of the Church of the Holy Angels, we covenant with one another to follow and share the teachings of Jesus Christ in accord with our Roman Catholic tradition. We will worship God together and serve our neighbor as an open and caring Christian community. We pledge to minister to one another’s spiritual and physical needs, expressing through our individual lives the love and faith taught by Jesus.

With Angels beside us, we gather as One Family Uniting in Christ to:

Celebrate
our faith through uplifting and positive spiritual, sacramental and liturgical worship.

Support
each other in faith and working together to build the reign of God.

Teach
our faith rooted in the development of our youth and adults, and in the sharing of our daily lives.

Nurture
our community ministries to the aid and comfort of others.

Care
for all God’s people through social justice programs that assist the economically disadvantaged, infirmed and homebound.

Build
the Kingdom of God by working together as a family in Christ.
