The Holy Family Soup Kitchen group prepares and serves dinner to the homeless on the Second Friday of every month at Mission House Soup Kitchen in Jacksonville Beach.
Current Coordinators are Donald Moynahan and Kevin Alexander.
We try to have 8 to 12 volunteers show up beginning any time after 4:30 p.m. We prepare an entrée of Chicken, Meatloaf or Pork loin, Jambalaya, two vegetables, garlic bread and dessert. Dinner is served at 7 p.m. Cleanup is normally done by 7:45 p.m. and several members go out afterwards.
To cover the costs of providing these meals we hold a yearly fundraiser. It is a dinner & dance held in the Parish Hall at Holy Family and the menu is the same as what we prepare for the homeless.
