Confirmation Mass
The Confirmation Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 22 at 7:00 p.m. in St. Mary Church, Pawtucket.

Crafters Needed
Join us on Thursday, May 10 at 6:30 PM in St. Joseph's Church Hall  for our next craft session to prepare lovely gifts for the parish bazaar. Our teacher, Ione, has generously offered to share her knowledge and expertise with us, as well as many supplies. On May 10 we will be working on 3 different Christmas ornaments. Learn a new skill,  have fun with your friends and help Holy Family. All are welcome!


.Legion of Mary
The Legion of Mary will meet Tuesday, May 15 at 7:00 p.m. in Holy Family Rectory, off Sabin St. (right next to Our Lady of Consolation Church). Please conact Alice Dabney at 722-6388 for more information.

"Rock the City" Outreach
Holy Family Parish would like to "Rock the City" (Play Live Religious Music), "Feed the City" (have Hot Dogs and Drinks) and "Clothe the City" (Have donated used clothes to give) on Saturday, August 11 from 11:00 a.m. on. An initial planning meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 16 at 7:00 p.m. in Our Lady of Consolation Church Hall. All are invited to attend.


Baptism Preparation Class
The next Baptism Preparation Class for all interested parents and godparents will be held Wednesday, May 16 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in St. Joseph Library at the rear of the church hall. Before attending class, parents must first call the parish office at 724-9190 to set up a meeting with Father Bob. then call Steve Kilmartin at 725-5654 to register for classes.


Healing Ministry Meeting
A meeting for members of the Healing Ministry that was to be held will Thursday May 17 at 6:30 p.m.has been cancelled due to the Holyday.

Healing Mass & Service
The next Healing Mass and Service will be at St. Joseph Church on Sunday, May 20, 2012. The Healing Ministry starts at 1:15 with the Rosary while confessions are being heard. The Mass begins at 1:45 p.m. and we pray over and with all of the people after Holy Communion. Mass concludes with Benediction. The church is handicapped accessible. All are invited! The last Healing Mass & Service until Fall will be Sunday, June 24.


"People of Hope" Prayer Group
Everyone is invited to join the "People of Hope" Prayer Group. They pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet followed by the Way of the Cross on every Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Consolation Church. The next prayer group is Friday, May 18.Contact Eva 508-399-8239 or Cathy at 508-761-8219.

Parish Evangelization Meeting
The next Parish Evangelization meeting will be Saturday, May 19 at 8:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Church.

Parish Council Meeting
The next Parish Council Meeeting will be held Thursday, May 24 at 6:30 p.m. inSt. Joseph Church hall.

Breadline

Marian Prayer
Marian prayer will be held at Our Lady of Consolation Church on Wednesday, May 30 in front of Mary's statue outside at 6:30 p.m. Theme: Mary at Vatican II. All are invited.

Parish Yard Sale
We have planned a Parish Yard Sale for Saturday, June 9, rain or shine. It will be from 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Consolation Church parking lot and garage. An initial planning meeting is set for Wednesday, May 9 at 6:30 p.m. in St. Joseph Church Hall.
If you wish to help the parish raise money, you are invited to buy what we will have for sale and/or donate items to us to be sold at the yard sale. If you have items to donate, you may drop them off at OLC garage next Saturday, May 19, between 12 noon and 1 p.m. Please bring only items that are useable.

Free Guitars
There are three child-sized practice guitars for young people and three adult guitars (including an electric) available to anyone interested. Please contact Father Bob. These are used instruments which were collected for a music class, over and above what we needed.

Summer Bible Camp News
We have chosen a new Bible Program for this summer called "Sky: Everything is Possible with God."   It is an exciting new concept which will be as favorable as the last few programs. We can use interested adults and chldren who will put on this program during the summer months. anyone interested in helping us (precious and new)volunteers with our Bible Program isasked to call the parish office.

Parish Picnic
A date for the Annual Parish Picnic has been chosen. This year's picnic will be held on Sunday, July 29. Save the date! More details to follow.

Children's Liturgy of the Word - Help Needed

We are in need of team leaders for younger children (Pre-K to 1st grade) on the first and fourth Sunday of each month at the 11:00 Mass. If you can volunteer, your commitment would only be once a month on either the first or fourth Sunday. training and books are provided. If you can help please call the parish office at 724-9190


Food Pantry
Non-perishable food items or donations are always welcomed to continue our efforts to support the many who are hungry. We are always in need of cereals, crackers, cookies, rice, tea, coffee, pasta and anything else you may have to donate. Please note that monetary donations also ge a long way to help support our Food Pantry.  A reminder that our Food Pantry is open on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Volunteers are always welcomed to help us out. You may call the parish office at 724-9190 for more information.

Pawtucket Soup Kitchen
Breakfast items or monetary donations are alwasy needed by the Pawtucket Soup Kitchen. Any assistance you can provide will be most appreciated. Any checks should be made out to the "Pawtucket Soup Kitchen". Donations may be placed in an envelope and deposited in the collection basket or dropped off at the Parish Office for the Soup Kitchen.  Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
Are you an adult? Not been baptized? Never received First Communion? Well, we have an answer for you...An Adult Educational Experience (for 18 years of age and older), called the Rite of The Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). Multimedia Teaching Experiences will be offered at the convenience of the participants. Do not let yourself be stopped from being a Godparent or Sponsor for a relative or friend. Please contact Father Bob at the parish office as soon as possible at 724-9190 if you have missed receiving any sacraments and would like to participate in this program to receive them.

Healing Masses will be held on the following dates: May 20, June 24.

Breadline
 
Breadline is a ministry in which a group of people from Holy Family Parish go out to Providence and Cranston once a month on a Friday afternoon and evening to distribute food, clothing and many other items to the homeless. The Breadline now serves approximately 250 people a month. The parish incurs a cost of $250-$275 a month. The ministry is in great need of monetary donations, especially to assist in purchasing food. Toiletries and clothing can always be donated as well. People are needed to drive to these places and to distribute all that we have. Also, people are needed to make sandwiches and food packets for our trip.  You may call Deb Gilchrist at 475-0681 or the parish office for more information. The Breadline schedule for 2012 is as follows: April 27, May 25, June 22, July 20, August 31, September 28, October 26, November (open), December 21.

Social Justice News
Social Justice meetings are held at St. Joseph Church Hall Library at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday mornings (following the 8:00 Mass). All are welcome to attend.

Healing Ministry Opportunities
Over the last three years we have conducted Healing Masses on the third Sunday of every month. These liturgies have been well attended and have given comfort to many. Because of illness or incapacity of some of our ministers, we have need of new people to join us. The responsibilities of ministers are as  follows:
1. To pray for the sick, especially in front of the tabernacle.
2. To participate in a once a month teaching by Father Bob on "Healings" in the church. In 2010/2011 we will concentrate upon Brother Andre, one of the newest Saints in the Church.
3. To take on one of the following ministries at the Mass each month:
   a. Leading part of the Scriptural Rosary.
   b. Being a Lector, Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion or a collector.
   c. Ushering people into their places.
   d. Being a "catcher" for those who are prayed over.

Baptism Class Schedule for 2012
Baptism classes will be held on Sundays from 12:30 p.m.- 2:30 p.m. on the following dates: January 22,  March 4, June 20, October 14.
Baptism classes will be held on Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. on the following dates: February 15, April 18, May 16, July 11, September 12, December 5.
No classes will be held in August and November. Please keep this schedule for reference. Any changes that may be made will be published in the church bulletin and on the website.

Volunteers Needed
Volunteers are needed to help with Parish grounds maintenance. If anyone could contribute one or two hours a week it would be greatly appreciated. The schedule is flexible. If you are interested and can help us, please call Paul Renaud at 725-0512.

Bible Study
Scripture studies are offered weekly on Sunday at St. Joseph Church Hall Library from12:00 p.m.to 1:00 p.m. (following the 11:00 Mass). Everyone is welcomed to attend.

Please Remember the Poor
Here are some things you can do for the poor this winter:
*Volunteer at the soup kitchen - call 256-3446.
*Remember to place canned goods and food items in the containers of each of the churches.
* Homeless items are always appreciated. Tooth paste, toothbrushes and soap are always needed.
*Money for all these organizations can also help the causes above. Place designated envelopes in the budget collection.


Soup Kitchen
Volunteers are needed for the Pawtucket Soup Kitchen, located in St. Joseph Church. Breakfast and Supper are served daily, Monday through Friday. Volunteers are needed from Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. - 8:15 a.m. or from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. to assist with meal set-up, serving and cleanup. Volunteers are also needed on Saturdays from 9:45 - 11:45 for the same purpose. If you are interested and can help us, please call 401-256-3446 to schedule.
