- Do not shake hands (e.g., greetings and sign of peace)
- Pastors are not to distribute the Precious Blood (chalice)
- Do not give the Host on the tongue. Doing so can contaminate the entire ciborium if a finger touches an infected person on the tongue and then returns to the ciborium.

- Do not come to Mass if you have flu-like symptoms.
- Do not bring children to Mass if they have flu-like symptoms or are ill.
- If you cough or sneeze – use the bent arm area or your sleeve.
- Wash your hands well with hot water and soap before and after Mass
- When you can’t wash your hands, use a hand sanitizer with at least 62% alcohol.
- Do not touch your face or mouth without first washing your hands.
- Get your flu shot, get plenty of rest, eat a balanced diet, drink water and exercise.

(a) they are ill with the flu or have reason to believe that they have flu-like symptoms
