What is Holy Spirit School’s average Class Size?

With two classrooms at each grade level, Holy Spirit School has an excellent Teacher:Student ratio of 1:20.


What additional help is available to help my child succeed in school?

The teachers and staff at Holy Spirit School are very dedicated and committed to help each child succeed. 

Often, teachers will set-up “small group study sessions” before and/or after school to help each child feel confident with the material that has been presented. 

We have a Reading Specialist trained in the use of the VISAGRAPH, which assesses the eye movements of the reader to help us understand how to help each child become a successful reader.

Parent and Grandparent Volunteers work with individuals and small groups of  students to assist with reading decoding, comprehension and fluency ~ as well as coordinating “Basic Facts” drill and skill practice.

 

Does Holy Spirit School offer Child Care?

Before and after school care (7:00 am - 6:00 pm) is available for children enrolled in Holy Spirit's Preschool through 6th Grade - during the school year as well as during the summer.


Are there opportunities for my child to become involved in Music and/or Athletics?

Our students may choose to participate in after-school bells, chimes and choral choir programs beginning in grade 1. Holy Spirit School student athletes participate in the Grand Rapids Area Catholic Elementary Athletic League beginning in grade 5.   
 

Is Tuition Assistance Available?

 

Holy Spirit School offers a variety of programs to assist families with their investment in their children’s futures.

SCRIP is a voluntary tuition reduction program in which rebates earned from area merchants are credited to your family’s tuition account on a quarterly basis.

A scholarship program is available and administered by the parish Business Manager. If a need arises at any time during the school year, an application for assistance may be made.

Participation in parish and school fund-raising activities provide opportunities to build community while keeping tuition costs reasonable.
